Humans are primarily affected by the reciprocation of their prior deeds. Without thinking of upcoming future generations, humans never stopped deteriorating the environment and Mother Earth. Usage of large amounts of chemical fertilizers, pesticides, plastic disposal, exposure to vehicular emissions, Industrialization, openly thrown wastes, and garbage, and manufacturing high chemical drugs were the reasons that not only have harmful effects on the atmosphere but are also highly responsible for Climate Change. Climate change is a complex environmental, social, and economic issue that is taking humanity to its degradation. None other than humans themselves are responsible for this crisis. Their activities, like cutting down forests and burning organic fuels and plastics, not only increase the concentration of carbon dioxide but also make the global temperature rise. Rising temperatures, shifting weather patterns, melting glaciers, loss of biodiversity, extinction of species, and severe health issues are the adverse effects of Climate Change. According to researchers and environmentalists, it is very important to resolve these environmental issues. Climate change is causing dangerous disruptions in nature and is the most complex issue that human society faces today. Climate change gradually making the earth unsustainable. Global warming of 1.5°Celsius leads to unexpected changes in human existence, and if this temperature rises to 2°Celsius, it will be beset with large-scale disasters. Restricting this warming to 1.5°C is highly necessary to maintain human life in an adapted format. Due to warmer temperatures, the evaporation rate is getting higher, resulting in speeding up the water cycle. Because of warmer temperatures, species will not be able to adapt to climate change.
Humans are about to face unavoidable climate hazards within two decades, with the rising global temperature of 1.5°C and loss of livelihoods a major concern for humans. Exceeding global warming will cause irreversible severe impacts. Continuous growth in climate change and Urbanisation is creating complex risks for the cities that already experiencing poorly planned urban growth. Many families are living in poverty or have lower incomes; these families get less clean water or food while extreme temperature worsens their health. Humans' exploitation of natural resources and the production of harmful emissions are now increasing the frequency of climate disasters, including storms, floods, heat waves, and droughts.
The negative effects of climate change include extreme weather conditions like massive typhoons and tsunamis, and humans are facing challenges. Humanity depends on the extent of these challenges and their ability to mitigate and adopt them.
Some significant consequences Humanity are facing / will face in the future.
1.Extreme Temperature: Greater atmospheric instability and increased extreme heat cause death due to a reduction in vegetation, especially in urban areas. In urban areas, vehicle and industry emissions used to be high. Worldwide heatwaves will pose massive threats to people who work outdoors, like farmers, warehouse employees, construction workers, and factory employees. Extreme temperatures rose health risks, strain energy, and will make an impact on agriculture, too.
2.Agriculture, food security: Erratic weather patterns will challenge agriculture. Lands will degrade and no longer be suitable for cultivation, which will lead to crop failure and food scarcity. Droughts will cause a food shortage and become a threat to Global food security.
3.Water resources: Rising Global temperature will lead to a shortage of water. Meanwhile, there would be a shortage of water for cultivation. Also, changes in atmospheric stability affect the precipitation patterns and lead to droughts or heavy rainfall in certain regions. Storms and floods can also affect the water quality and water availability of drinking water and can spread several diseases. Contamination will increase with runoff pollutants from the street and overflow of sewage. Water availability for agriculture and drinking water will face a shortage.
4.Public health concerns: Air Pollution causes health risks like lung cancer, asthma or cardiovascular diseases worldwide. Extreme weather poses health risks. Due to warmer weather, the life span of mosquitoes and other insects is increasing. These insects are the carriers of diseases like dengue, malaria, and Zika. Contaminated water sources spread diseases like diarrhea and cholera.
5.Economic Consequences: The economic impact of climate change can damage property and increase insurance costs and disaster recovery. Also can disrupt economies and businesses.
Some changes for future generations due to climate change
• Children will be more sensitive to diseases and pollution as they do not have good immunity.
• Extreme events like hurricanes, storms, floods, or tsunamis destroy homes, schools and buildings.
• Droughts and floods will destroy crops and cut the access to water.
• People will either face migration or starvation.
However, it is important to note that the severity of these impacts can mitigated through Global efforts to reduce pollution and greenhouse gas emissions and by adapting sustainable technologies and practices.
